This is
the Pokemon game page. If you want to know about the show, click
the link at the end of this writing. Cause I'm talking about the
Pokemon game for now.
Pokemon
is like a role playing game, except instead of warriors and wizards, you
have cute little monster guys. Some of them are very cute and marketable.
Like Pikachu. Some are ugly muthas that no one really wants, just
cause they're ugly. Like Magmar. At any rate, you take six
Pokemon around with you, and you go around and complete the game.
You can choose any six Pokemon you own to be in your army. And there's
150 to choose from...but you have to catch em first! AHAHAHAHA!
Your
Pokemon raise in level as they get more experience. You get experience
by beating other Pokemon. As your Pokemon raise in level, they learn
new moves. For some Pokemon, raising their level means they evolve
into a stronger Pokemon.
Raising
the Pokemon is the point of the game. As you go, you start liking
or disliking certain Pokemon, and this shapes the structure of your final
army. You probably also develope a favorite guy. My favorite
guy is Sandshrew/Sandslash. There is also strategy involved, in that
certain types of Pokemon are strong or weak against other types.
The main
advantage of this game is that you can link your Gameboy (oh yeah, it's
played on the Gameboy) to a friends, and the two of you can battle your
Pokemon. Nintendo is coming out with a Pokemon Arena game for the
N64. Reason to buy a N64? Most definitely yes.
That's
the gist of it. Here are some more detailed stuff about the game.
